What Supporters Can Do
We can all use words of encouragement and support every once in a while and your student is no different! You play an instrumental role in your student’s transition and they may lean on you for additional support. As they get settled into their new environment.
- Encourage your student to study and work hard, and to not fall behind in their school work.
- Encourage your student to seek help when they need it. A trip to the College Office to speak with an Academic College Advisor is the best starting point.
- Encourage them to ask about the university's support and mental health resources.
- Encourage them to enjoy their intellectual and social experience at university.
- Remind them to meet deadlines!
