Residential life resources
Residential life at UC Santa Cruz is about more than just where students live—it’s where they find community, support, and connection. With 10 unique residential colleges, each offering its own traditions, themes, and tight-knit communities, students are supported both personally and academically. The Housing Office provides assistance with on-campus housing options, while UCSC Dining offers a variety of nutritious and sustainable meal choices across campus. From move-in day to everyday life, the residential experience is designed to help students feel at home, build friendships, and fully engage in campus life.

Academic Advising
At UCSC, each student is supported by at least two academic advisors: a college advisor and a major (program) advisor. College advisors help students understand general education and university-wide requirements and offer guidance from admission through graduation. Once a student declares a major, their program advisor provides support with major-specific requirements, academic planning, and connections to faculty and enrichment opportunities. Many students also develop informal mentoring relationships with faculty.

Learning Support Services
Learning Support Services (LSS) is UCSC’s undergraduate tutoring center, supporting over 3,000 students each year across more than 100 courses. LSS offers inclusive, peer-led tutoring sessions that help students catch up, keep up, and excel in their classes. Students who participate in tutoring often earn higher grades and pass rates. Each year, LSS trains and certifies around 150 undergraduate tutors, fostering a community of learners and leaders. Through culturally responsive practices and strong campus partnerships, LSS promotes academic success and educational equity for all students.

Career Success
Career Success helps students and alumni prepare for life after UCSC by building essential career skills and connecting them with opportunities. The office offers one-on-one career coaching, hosts job fairs and recruitment events, and partners with employers to provide valuable networking experiences. Students can explore internships and on-campus employment through a variety of career development and experiential learning opportunities. Career Success also manages student hiring and onboarding, and their website serves as a central hub for resources on jobs, grad school, and career planning.

Student Health Services

Services include routine and same-day medical care, mental health support, health education programs, and on-site lab, pharmacy, and x-ray services—all delivered by a team of licensed medical professionals.
